2008 Houston Rodeo Lineup Announced

The 2008 Houston Rodeo Lineup was announced on January 7. There's some great talent coming, many who have performed at the Rodeo in past years, but there are some new faces too. Tickets go on sale Jan. 12.

Houston Rodeo Announces Drawing for Hannah Montana Tickets

The Houston Rodeo announced a drawing will be held for tickets to the Hannah Montana performance scheduled for March 9.2008. This is the only way tickets will be available for purchase for her performance. To be a part of the drawing, you must register at special website randomdrawing.rodeohouston.com between 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, and midnight Friday, Dec. 21.

The rules are pretty strict, but they're trying to make the process more fair.

First the Registration Rules:

Enter Monday, Dec. 17, 8 a.m., through Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, midnight
Internet only: randomdrawing.rodeohouston.com
One entry per e-mail address
No more than four entries per household
Duplicate entries will be discarded
Drawing held Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008
Winners notified via e-mail Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, by 3 p.m.
Non-winners will NOT be notified
Notification e-mail will provide winners with instruction on how to purchase tickets

Now the Purchase Rules:

Winners must purchase four tickets between 8 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, and 5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, on ticketmaster.com
To purchase tickets, in the event that you are a winner, you must have an account with ticketmaster.com. If you have an existing ticketmaster.com account, use the e-mail address and password associated with that account. If you do not have an account, to expedite your purchase, we strongly recommend that you create an account prior to 8 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008.

Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served, best-available basis, and are not guaranteed to be four tickets together.

CMA Award Winners

Wow, the CMA (Country Music Awards) have announced the latest crop of winners:

Sugarland won Vocal Duo beating out Brooks and Dunn's long running domination of the award. Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland said, "If we're standing up here, we have this lofty view because we're standing on the shoulders of giants who've come before us," What a lady!

Rascal Flatts won for Top Vocal Group

George Strait won for Top Album for his "It Just Comes Natural" - I guess it does, for George! In addition he also won for Song of the Year with his hit "Give it Away"

Carrie Underwood won Single of the Year for "Before He Cheats".

These are some of the performers that make going to the Houston Rodeo such a great time.
