The band Big Time Rush also known as B.T.R., is an American pop boyband that is originally formed during the hit television series in Nickelodeon entitled Big Time Rush, where they play as boy band. The band consists of four members namely, Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos Pena and Logan Henderson. Like Miley Cyrus who plays Hannah Montana in a Disney show called Hannah Montana, the fans wanted to see these guys perform for real and they have successfully penetrated the music industry. Since they are known for their fictional band as Big Time Rush, they keep their name for real.
The band covers the genre of music such as pop, R&B dance, pop rock, bubble gum pop and dance pop. They released their debut album entitled B.T.R. in October, 2011 which peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified Gold by RIAA for they have reached the sales of over 500,000 copies. A second studio album Elevate, and was released on November 20, 2011.

The show is starred by Kendall Schmidt as Kendall Knight – the guy who never really though of pursuing singing, James Maslow as James Diamond – a very cocky character, who wants to be a big pop star, Carlos Pena as Carlos Garcia – basically the dynamite, the crazy guy who has no filter and has fun day whatever he wants and lastly Logan Henderson as Logan Mitchell – basically the brainiac of the group, comes up with the plans, plans ahead and always think everything through.
The show is about the misadventures of four teenage boys from Minnesota, who will face different kind of challenges and sacrifices, trying to make it big in the music industry in Hollywood. They are discovered by Gustavo Rocque, a record producer, that has witnessed their hidden talent and give them a chance become singing sensation.
The show Big Time Rush officially debut last January 18, 2010, earning 6.8 million viewers making it Nickelodeon’s highest rated live-action television series. Currently they are in 2nd season and working on their 3rd season.
